In a world that settles for wishful thinking and numbness, Advent reminds us that peace is not the absence of conflict—it’s the presence of Jesus. As the Prince of Peace, He doesn’t promise a trouble-free life, but He does promise Himself. When we fix our minds on Him rather than our fears, we experience shalom, shalom—perfect peace.

In Matthew 10, Jesus sends His disciples out with authority not only to preach and heal, but to release peace into worthy households. In Christ, we are made worthy to host His presence and carry His peace into our homes, workplaces, and relationships. Some will receive it; others won’t—but we entrust them to God and keep walking in His peace.

This Advent, may we come to the Lord’s Table not as people crushed by shame, but as beloved sons and daughters who don’t deserve grace yet are made worthy by Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him, practice His presence, and let His peace go with you wherever you go.
